The transition from a traditional e-commerce model (owned inventory) to a marketplace architecture introduced significant system complexity. The client needed a platform capable of onboarding and managing thousands of new sellers and products, while ensuring a seamless experience for partner merchants and absolute integrity in financial flows—tracking who paid, commission splits, and seller payouts.

DB identified that marketplace success depended on seller trust in the platform. The assessment highlighted the Notification Center and Financial Flow as the operational core.
Delays in sales notifications or errors in commission calculations would directly compromise the business model. A microservices architecture was required to process massive data volumes in real time.
