DB & Consumer Goods Leader: Innovation acceleration with Design Sprint

01. Problem

Innovating in the traditional home appliances market requires precision and speed. The company needed to launch not just a hardware product, but a connected IoT experience. The risk of investing months in development without validated user adoption was significant.
The challenge was to validate the product’s value proposition, interface usability, and hardware integration before committing to large-scale production.

02. Assessment

DB’s assessment identified that traditional R&D models would be too slow for digital product dynamics. The team defined the need for a Design Sprint—a five-day process to answer critical business questions through design, prototyping, and user testing.
The objective was to align engineering, marketing, and business teams around a single product vision, focused on a core user pain point: lack of confidence when preparing complex recipes.

03. Solution

DB facilitated an Agile Design workshop, bringing together key stakeholders in a co-creation environment. The team translated abstract ideas into a high-fidelity prototype simulating the interaction between the mobile application and the physical device.
Real-time usability testing with target users generated actionable feedback, directly shaping the final feature set. This approach enabled rapid iteration on concept and navigation flows, ensuring subsequent development focused only on validated, market-approved capabilities.
