Grow with purpose

​We have grown by developing relationships of trust with our employees, customers and partners. In 2014 we outlined our values, which together from the acronym CRESCER (GROW).
These values were designed by our staff collaboratively, in order to reflect our culture as accurately as possible.

WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY SUCCESS IS BASED ON PEOPLE

We are a people-centered organization; this has and will always be our main approach. DB has created a method, based on cultural indicators, that examines the human aspects of our daily work. We are are developing a people-centered culture based on courage, empathy, collaboration and a collective sense of community. We are delighted to be able to tell you how we created this.

2016

INCLUSION PROGRAM

In 2016, we created our inclusion program to try to ensure people with disabilities are included in the technology sector. It is a mission that we have been involved in continuously since. Our objectives for the Inclusion Program were:

To include people with disabilities in a way that was egalitarian and effective;

To break down the accessibility barriers, whether to do with attitudes, technology, architecture or society;

Enable all people with disabilities to be self-sufficient;

To show an appreciation for diversity, to believe in every individual’s potential.

2017

DIVERSITY GROUP

As the result of a more inclusive environment for people with disabilities within the organization, it naturally opened up opportunities discuss other aspects of diversity. This led to an initiative to create a Diversity Group, in 2017. 

2018

ETHICAL MILESTONE

As a result of this group, work groups were established to consider important issues around creating a safe environment within DB, helping with activities, initiatives and discussions that culminated in the collectively-written Ethical Framework. The Ethical Framework became part of DB’s culture in 2018, with the seal of approval of senior management, together with the values based on CRESCER. These are then promoted within and outside the company.

2020

ETHICS AND LGPD CHANNEL

As well as the cultural elements contributed by staff during their careers in DB, further work was needed to reinforce the culture. Therefore, we launched our Ethics and LGPD Channel to avoid any issues in the workplace and ensure that conduct was in line with our values. This ensured that there was a safe and anonymous way to deal with reports and complaints, suggestions and requests, in a sympathetic manner.

2021

START DB

Having achieved a more welcoming environment for everyone and put measures in place to deal with any issues in relation to the culture we wanted to encourage, next we aimed to improve the diversity of our recruitment. In 2021 we created our first internship program based on organizational identity and with priority for vacancies given to under-represented groups in IT. And so, START DB was born. 

This program was both crosscutting and collaborative. It involved managers with various different skills: communication, culture, people, technology and training. It was based on respect, concern, ideas and experimentation and without worrying about mistakes.  

We wanted a robust program that people would continuously receive training that was based on our cultural, behavioral and technical principles and methods and had oversights over training, allocation and the development of interns. As a guide, we created a purpose based on being a leader in social transformation and providing professional and personal development opportunities for interns.
